Selling an accounting software online requires the perfect competitive quality of a product, the advanced features to attract the right audience and to satisfy them with their needs.
Those three mentioned points are the basic things you should put into consideration when designing a small business accounting software.
Reason being that, customers look for a software that stands out from the rest and one that will make them run their businesses efficiently.
There are five different ways through which a seller can attract a large number of customers:
1. Offer a free software demo
Offering a demo is the most practiced form of marketing. In fact, it is something you should do when you are new to the market and you want to attract the right customers.
The software demo should have all the features the ‘pro’ accounting software has and a few restrictions can be added on the demo version, if necessary.
However, the best way to go about everything, is by offering a full access to software’s features for a certain period of time.
This certain period of time is referred to as a ‘trial period’. After that period, customers should be given an option to upgrade or pay to continue using the pro features.
Customers will then make a decision after the trial period to continue using the software or not. If you are lucky, they might even leave their reviews, comments or feedback about the accounting software.
You can then consider their feedback and make necessary changes or improvements on the software. Positive reviews and comments will encourage other customers to try your software.
Tip: Make sure to reply to every review or comment. By ‘every’ I mean even the bad or negative ones.
2. Offer the money back guarantee
In cases where the customer is not satisfied with the accounting software s/he should be able or allowed to get a full refund.
However, to be fair, the customer should be aware that the refund guarantee will be allowed if a certain period of time has not passed.
The certain period of time can be thirty (30) days (from day of purchase). The money back guarantee tends to encourages customers to try a product.
3. 24/7 customer support services
Customer should be able to reach to you about any issues and queries, at any time of the day and still get a response. However, since it is not possible to deal with customers face to face, there are certain ways you can ‘be there’ for them.
Technology has really made things easier… Anyway, you can let your customers reach out to you via Email, Skype, Facebook or Twitter account and even a phone call. Your customers’ feedback shouldn’t be ignored on any day and should be taken serious.
4. A phone number on your website and other forms of communication
It should be easy (for customers) to contact you about any issues or inquiries they may have. Including a phone number on your website is a must but, must not be the only way customers can reach you.
Thing is, some people don’t like phone calls and you can’t help your customers with technical issues on the phone. Customer’s satisfaction should be your top priority and that means customer should be assisted in their preferred form of communication.
5. Include a video of how the software works – a tutorial
I’m sure you knew this and for obvious reasons, right? The tutorial or video should not be too long. The length of the video should be one-to-two minutes, detailing the software and its feature.
The video should cover everything about the software and its features. The easier it is to understand the software, the better. Trust me, the last thing you want is a confused customer.
Putting the above points into action enhances the potential of sales. Is there something we have missed? Let us know in the comment’ section.
